Symposium Educational Objectives

             1. To review the updated guidelines for treatment of dyslipidemia.

              

             2. Understand the risks and benefits of drug eluting stents.

    

             3. Be familiar with new percutaneous mitral valve repair techniques.

  

             4. Determine the workup of the CHF patient and know when to refer for EP evaluation.

   

             5. Distinguish the measures used to prevent and treat contrast induced nephropathy.

   

             6. Recognize the current approaches to the unstable angina patient.

   

             7. Discuss cardiac surgical techniques utilizing robotic technology.

 

             8. Describe the role of hormone replacement therapy in the postmenopausal female.

 

             9. Employ new concepts of cardiocerebral resuscitation.

Educational Credits and CME Certificates

Educational Credits:  This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essentials and Standards of Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of Cardiovascular Society of Arizona.  Banner Health System is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.

Banner Health System designates this educational activity for a maximum of 8.75 AMA PRA Category I Credits.  Physicians should only claim claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
